Lawrence, KS - Clayton William Vogler, 101 of Lawrence, KS, formerly from Orchard Avenue, Ellwood City, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Pioneer Health and Rehab, Lawrence, KS.
Clayton was born September 15, 1919 to William and Ruth Pifer Vogler, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1937. He was a member of Bell Memorial Presbyterian Church where he served as Trustee, Elder, Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the European Theater as a radio operator. Upon discharge he worked for US Steel in the Tube Mill, and later for Johnson Bronze in New Castle. In 1967 Clayton moved with his wife and two of their children to Fort Lauderdale, FL where he managed a motel and later owned a laundromat. Upon selling that business, he worked at a property manager until retirement. In 2014 he moved to Lawrence, KS to be near his son and daughter-in-law.
Clayton loved to work with wood and created many beautiful projects.
Clayton is survived by daughters Janet (Paul) Saeva of Ocala, FL and Diana (Ron) Benoit of Punta Gorda, FL, and son William (Karen) Vogler of Lawrence, KS. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 13 great, great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Clayton was preceded in death by his beloved wife Margaret (December 23, 2011) and daughter Patricia Sullivan (August 23, 2020) as well as his two sisters, Mildred Vogler Partridge and Twila Mae Vogler.
A memorial service for Clayton and Patty was held March 14th at Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Lawrence, KS where Clayton's son Bill is pastor. Burial will take place April 10th, 2021 at Forest Lawn Cemetery and Memorial Gardens in Fort Lauderdale, FL where he will be laid to rest next to his Sweetheart.
