Consuelo Solis

Consuelo Melendez Solis. May 17, 1918 – December 19, 2007. CONSUELO MELENDEZ SOLIS, 89, was called to heaven by our Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2007. She was born in Candelaria, Mexico and was raised in Valentine, Texas. In 1947 she moved to El Paso with her husband and children. She was a member of the Catholic Church. A dedicated homemaker for all her life, she was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by husband, Pablo Solis, Sr., son, Carlos M. Solis, survived by wife Aurora and daughter Anita Mendoza, survived by husband Adolfo. Consuelo is survived by five children; Zulema and husband Antonio+, Pablo Jr. and wife Esperanza, Rosa and husband Ted, Margie and husband Florencio, Rudy and wife Ana. She is survived also by one brother, Manuel Melendez and sister Cecilia Segura, twenty-three grandchildren, forty-seven great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. It was appropriate she lived her early life in Valentine, Texas as she had a heart of gold and was loved by many. She leaves a long legacy of children and three generations of grandchildren who were all touched by her loving heart. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Friday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina. Vigil Service will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel. Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 8 a.m. at San Antonio Catholic Church. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
