POEM
I think of you often
and make no outward show,
But what it means to lose you,
no one will ever know
You wished no one farewell,
not even said good-bye,
You were gone before I knew it,
and only God knows why.
You are not forgotten
nor will you ever be,
As long as life and memories last,
I will remember thee.
To some you may be forgotten,
to others a part of the past,
But to me who loved you dearly,
your memories will always last.
Nothing can be more beautiful
than the memories I have of you.
To me, you were someone special,
God must have thought so too!
If tears could build a staircase
and memories a lane,
I would walk all the way to Heaven,
and bring you back again.

Dear Sister,
Not a day has gone by without thinking of you...your smile, your butterfly kisses when you greeted me. Our walks, having dinner with you, often. Oh I miss you so.. You made my life so much better for being my sister.
Margarita, mi hermanita tan bonita, solia decirte y solo me dabas una sonrisa.

On Sept. 1974, I met Margarita for the first time. It was my first year teaching in Canutillo Elementary school and Margarita was working on her certification as a teacher. She was quite a help and always nice to all the students, nicely dressed, soft spoken, punctual, professional. She was always kind and helpful to all of us. After the first year, we kept in touch via phone calls and visits for about another year. Then, I would see her at seminars, workshops, conventions, and district meetings for the next 35 years. On October 2009, I had a chance meeting with her, for the next year we met regularly for lunch or to pray and even making plans for the future. Margarita stayed at my house for a few weeks and we enjoyed praying, laughing, cooking and going out for a bite. She was making a great effort to cook regularly. She left too soon, but left happier than she was for some time. I'm forever grateful unto our Lord that he put peace in my heart that faithful day in August 2010. Together we found prayer, perseverance and patience. It was a very memorable time for both of us. "A good name is better than a good ointment" Margarita was blessed with a good name and will forever be missed.
God Bless YOu Always,
Forever your friend-Rafaela

Hope your journey was peaceful and full of anticipation.

I am looking at Margarita's picture not wanting to say good-bye, not ready to reconcile the fact that she is gone...gone. May God help us deal with your passing. I will forever miss you..Good night, dear.

God of power and mercy, you have made death itself the gateway to eternal life. Look with love on Margarita, and make her one with Your Son in His suffering and death, that, sealed with the blood of Christ, she may come before you free from sin. Amen. I am filled with happiness knowing you are at heaven before our Almighty. You were a good person and proud catholic. Your bible studies, confession during the months preceding your sudden death and throughout your life are a testament that you have reached your destination. You are safely home, blessed by God and in the presence of angels. Your friend

My thoughts and prayers are with the Peña family. Margarita was a teacher of mine when I was just 7 years old. She was always kind and never raised her voice at me or anyone else. She was an excellent teacher and instilled confidence in her students. Her 30 years as a techer are a legacy to the city of El Paso. May God bless her family.

Safely Home...
I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' love iluminated Every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's Will.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth-
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.
My condolences to the Pena Family

Tomad, Señor, y recibid toda mi libertad, mi memoria, mi entendimiento y toda mi voluntad; todo mi haber y mi poseer.

Sinceramente,
