Mary and Family,
Barbara and I were so sorry to learn of David's passing and extend our sincere sympathy to you and your family. We have wonderful memories of David, dating to our high school days and beyond. In our early married years, we recall with great fondness the times we spent together, the fun we had and the respect we gained for David - the friendship he shared, the love of family he modeled and his easy and caring manner. In this time of sorrow, we hope that you will hold close the memories of David and many of the good times you shared together - those memories will bring a smile to your face and allow you and family to remember David for all his wonderful ways. Please know that we will keep David and all of your family in our thoughts and prayers. With love and sadness, Jamie and Barbara

To the Nelson Family,
Your Dad/Husband was a very special person in my life, especially in my days at Penn State. His sense of humor and genuine caring for others was always on display. When you came into the Nelson home, you were treated as one of their own and felt a genuine love -- the door was always open. He made a positive impact on my life (especially as a father), and I'm sorry I haven't seen him for some time. I can still hear his laugh.....always young at heart. You're all in my thoughts and prayers....

Dave was one of Strong Vincent's last in a long tradition of truly great swimmers and conducted himself with class. He was a gem in SV's Class of 1965.

I love you dad. I could always count on you for anything. I wish we could throw a line one more time. I wish I could call you for advice one more time. Please watch over your family and friends who are left here without you, but we remain with love in our hearts for you. Best dad ever...my buddy...
