John H. "Jack" Gott

John H. “Jack” Gott John H. “Jack” Gott, 76, of Millcreek, died Monday, November 27, 2006 at Millcreek Community Hospital. John was born in Erie on August 23, 1930, a son of the late Harvey Welcome Gott and Vera West Gott. He was a graduate of Millcreek High School Class of 1948 and had attended Penn State University. He served in the United States Air Force in Korea. John had been an Engineer at General Electric and also Fenestra prior to his retirement in the mid 90’s. John was very friendly and enjoyed socializing with his neighbors. He was well known to his family as the “Sage” of Oakmont. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Gordon Gott. He is survived by four children, Jonathan Gott, of Lancaster, Pa., Rebecca Gott and her husband Robert, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Jessica Davis and her husband Stephen of Austin, Texas and Christopher Gott, of Columbus, Ohio; and a sister M. Jean Hazen and her husband Charles of Trumbull, Conn. John is further survived by two grandchildren, Emma and Rebecca Davis both of Austin, Texas. Friends may call at the Burton West Lake Funeral Home, Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Following the service there will be the observance of Military Honors.
