I am writing this for Shirleys brother Tom Smith.. When Dad and Mom left us you never hesitated about having me come live with you and Robert. I am very happy I didn't have to go into a group home. You taught me how to do my laundry, pack my lunch Togo with my group on outings, you even had my group come to the house and cook and watch movies..
You could leave me alone when you and Robert went away and you trusted me to do what I was suppose to
You were like mom to me.
I love you and I miss you. I told my "nother sister" she was my sister now.
I am glad Chris and Phill
Have me now. Shirley said it would be ok
I still have a home.

Bird Family
What can I say.Shirley was the most wonderful sister anyone could have. We never got mad at each other. She was a teacher in many ways. She always had time for family even if it ment putting aside something she had been waiting to do for her self. Family always came first. She was the best wife. Mother, sister.in-law .aunt, cousin friend anyone could ever need.No need to tell you how much she is missed. I need going to the phone to call because I have a question to ask her or something to tell her.We laughed because we use to have a lot of old Aunts.Suddenly WE became the old Aunts. I love her and miss her. Love all you kids like my own and I knew she felt the same way about our family
Shirley, I know you are happy now and free from pain as you rejoice in heaven with family and with the Lord.

To all of Shirley's family and friends,
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Shirley was a wonderful person and a long time volunteer at Brevillier Village. The time she devoted to the residents over the years is so very much appreciated. She loved sharing time with the residents at Conrad House. We have special memories of a very special lady. We are glad she could share some of her life with us. Vicky Wittuck, Brevillier Village

What can I say about Aunt Shirley. She was a kind, gentle, giving and loving soul. I have many memories of coming to the Bird home and playing in the back yard, having picnics and seeing HeyYou running right along with us. Boy could she bake (all of our wedding cakes), sew (I remember my flower girl dress and all of the Halloween costumes, dance, her ceramics and most of all, her care giving. She was amazing and took great care with all of her loved ones her whole lifetime. I loved her and will never forget. She is in a better place now and I'm sure she has a special job as our newest angel. Love to you all! Cousin Deb
