Betty Jane Quinter

Betty Jane Quinter, 100, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025. She last resided at Country Meadows, Bethlehem Township. She was the wife of the late William Evans Quinter. She was born in the village of Jacksonville, south of Bath, PA to Elmo Johnson Frey and Alice Helena Yoder. Betty Jane was the 7th of their 8 children, and the last surviving sibling. She moved to Nazareth as a girl and graduated from Nazareth High School in 1943. She attended Churchman's Business School in Easton before being employed in the office at the Nazareth Waist Mill. She married her high school sweetheart at St. John's Reformed Church in 1945, while Bill was still in the U. S. Navy. She later was hired as Clerk of Courts, Criminal Division, Northampton County, where she retired many years later. Betty Jane was very faithful and active in her church, St. John's U.C.C., Nazareth, serving on consistory, on spiritual council and many other committees. She especially loved helping with the church Christmas bazaar. Many of her closest and lasting friendships were formed there. She was a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star #163 in Nazareth. Friends and family always anticipated the Easter season, knowing Betty Jane would be making her delicious chocolate Easter eggs. She was very thankful to have celebrated her 100th birthday with her loving family members and friends. Betty Jane, a true matriarch, was loved and admired by so many. Her kindness touched everyone around her, and will be truly missed.
Betty Jane is survived by her 4 children, Diane L. Werkheiser and her husband Samuel, Edward E. Quinter, Kevin W. Quinter and his wife Terri, and Todd M. Quinter and his wife Kim. Betty Jane's grandchildren are Colleen (Geraldine), granddaughter-in-law Dawn, Peter (Angel), Conrad (Jenna), Evan, Jonathan (Alexa), Taylor, Adam (Ashley), Jacob (Emily), Olivia (Connor), and Tessa. Her great-grandchildren are respectively, Brandon, Azalea, Ammonrose, Parker, Mia, Janiya, Braxton, Isabella, Leila, and Ivy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Betty Jane was predeceased by her grandson, Samuel P. Werkheiser.
Family and friends of Betty Jane are invited to a visitation on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM followed by a Prayer Service at 1:00 PM at the Joseph F. Reichel Funeral Home Inc., 220 Washington Park, Nazareth, PA 18064. Internment will take place at Hope Cemetery, Hecktown, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Betty Jane Quinter to St. John's UCC, 183 S. Broad St., Nazareth, PA 18064. The Joseph F.
