Elaine Kelley Obituary
Elaine Marie Kelley, 74, retiree of Phillips Petroleum Company, passed away at 10:10 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2010, in the Forrest Manor Nursing Center, Dewey, Oklahoma.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, in the St. John Catholic Church, Bartlesville. Father Gregg Elliott will be the celebrant. Monsignor Patrick Brankin will concelebrate. Deacons Joe Richard and Jim Black will assist. A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, in the Memory chapel of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence. Deacon Joe Richard will lead the Rosary. Dedication of the grave, committal prayers, and interment will be directed in the White Rose Cemetery by The Arnold Moore Funeral Service.
Elaine will lie in state in the Drawing Rooms of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence where friends and family may call for their visitation.
Elaine Marie Kelley was born on October 4, 1935 in Nowata, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Lane Kelly and Ethel Marie (DeLapp) Kelley. She was reared and received her education in the Bartlesville community and was graduated with the Bartlesville College High Class of 1952. Following her high school graduation, Elaine and Daniel Pickett were united in marriage and had two sons, Daniel and David.
In 1959, Elaine moved to New York City and became employed on Wall Street, working for two brokerage firms. She remained in New York until 1968, at which time she returned to Bartlesville, and was united in marriage to James Buckley. Elaine became employed with Phillips Petroleum Company, Bartlesville. She worked in various accounting and tax positions within the company.
Elaine attended and graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Taxation. She was also a certified public accountant. In 1988, Elaine retired from the local company and established her own accounting practice in Bartlesville where she worked for a number of years before retiring again. She had continued her home in Bartlesville since that time.
Survivors include her son, Daniel S. Pickett and his wife, Sandy, Bartlesville; four grandchildren, Daniel J. Pickett and his wife, Sheila, Katy, Texas, Matthew Pickett and his wife, Emily, Yukon, Oklahoma, Thomas Pickett, St. Louis, Missouri, and Emily Anne (Pickett) Dotson, and her husband, Jerod, Sapulpa, Oklahoma; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother; father; son, David Pickett; and her brothers, Ronald Gene and Norman Lee Kelley.
