Warren Foster, Jr.
Ochelata - Warren Foster Jr., 88, of Ochelata, OK, died Tuesday in Bartlesville. Warren loved this land and lived his entire life within walking distance of his birth home and family dairy farm.
Warren was born the son of Warren Sr. and Zelma (Lee) Foster on Dec. 13, 1932, in Ochelata. His family operated a dairy farm, and he remembered the daily challenge of milking twice a day. He graduated from Ochelata High School in 1950 and took a job at the Crystal Ice Plant in Bartlesville. The ice plant operated a creamery, and this is where he met the love of his life Frances Hagenhoff.
Warren and Frances soon wed on Aug. 1, 1953, in Nowata, OK. They established their first home in the Ochelata area and enjoyed 65 years of loving marriage. Warren went on to a 25 plus year career with the U.S. Bureau of Mines, retiring in 1981 to spend more time on his ranch. He started raising Herefords at first, then switched to Angus, just recently retiring from raising cattle. His family ranch had several natural gas wells which he revived and produced from for many years. Warren knew how to do everything and enjoyed a hard day's work. Oftentimes, he enlisted his family's help in working cattle and his custom hay baling. He loved John Deere tractors and wore out several JD Gators.
A longtime member of Ochelata United Methodist Church, Warren faithfully supported his church's many ministries. He and Frances enjoyed eating together at their favorite restaurant, Dink's, where they always split a meal and a root beer. Warren loved his grandkids - they knew when Grandpa was around because he was always ready to bop them on the head with his cane. When he was not working, he could be found driving around to visit with friends - you knew when he was there because he laid on the horn till you came out ready to visit.
Warren is survived by his children Ann Packard of Ochelata, and Chris (Anne) Foster of Tulsa; four grandchildren, Lance (Elaine) Packard, Lindsey (Jeremy) Dunn, Katie (Caleb) Jackson, and Christina Foster; four great grandchildren Destiny Packard, Rian Dunn, Jensen Dunn and Eli Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers Robert and Bill Foster, and sister Mary Hawkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ochelata Volunteer Fire Dept., PO Box 118, Ochelata, OK 74051.
