Andres was born in Aricido, Puerto Rico, the son of Faustino Serrano and Iluminada Soto. He lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., for many years before moving to Fitchburg seven years ago. While in New York, he was employed as a taxi driver and then as a chef.
Andres leaves his wife of 25 years, Florence Ramos of Fitchburg; his daughters, Maribel Torres, Michele Velez, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Norma Ramos of Fitchburg; his son, Samuel Ramos of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his brother, Tato Serrano; and his sisters, Nilda Serrano, Elva Serrano and Ana Serrano, all of Brooklyn; his grandchildren, Destinee Liston, Jazmyn Torres, Alaya Harford-Velez, Arianna Torres and Bella Rosa, all in Brooklyn; also, Ida Ramos, Gabriel Alvarez and Sergio Alvarez, all of Fitchburg; his sons-in-law, Leonardo Espinal, Melvin Torres, Joshua Harford, all of Brooklyn; cousins, Sonia Montes, Smuel Serrano and Miriam Serrano, all of Brooklyn.
SERRANO -- A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 63 Sheridan St. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Calling hours in the Bosk Funeral home are on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
