Glenn Roberts Obituary
of Ashby; 49
ASHBY -- Glenn A. Roberts, 49, went to meet his heavenly Father on Mon. Aug. 12 after his courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Debra (Horton) Roberts; his parents William A. and Carol A. (Burgess) Roberts of Townsend; 2 brothers Troy Roberts and his wife Jannine of Pepperell and Dana Roberts and his wife Shauna of Townsend; nieces and nephews, Sydney Roberts of Townsend, Travis Horton of Templeton and Samantha and Justin Roberts of Pepperell. He also leaves his grandfather Philip A. Burgess and his wife Maxine of Tewksbury. He leaves many friends from Mount Wachusett Community College, Apt. 2b Boys, Pilgrim Covenant Church family, 1982 NMRHS football team and everyone's life that he touched.
He was predeceased by his brother Lee Roberts, paternal grandparents Herbert and Bertha Roberts, and his maternal grandmother Florence Burgess.
Glenn was born in Groton, MA on July 23, 1964. Glenn was a graduate of Bridgewater State College where he earned his Bachelor degree in Business Administration and Fitchburg State College where he earned his Masters in Counseling Psychology. He devoted his working career to Mount Wachusett Community College for over 21 years. Glenn also committed his time to serving the Lord. He was an amazingly strong and loving man. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his doctors and his hospice nurses Diane and Chauntelle.
ROBERTS -- His Celebration of Life will be held on Sat. Aug. 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Pilgrim Covenant Church, Beal St., Lunenburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Glenn's memory may be made to Mount Wachusett Community College, Attn: Robert's Scholar, 444 Green St., Gardner, MA 01440 or to the ALS Foundation at 315 Norwood Park S., 1st Floor, Norwood, MA 02062. Glenn was a faithful, precious friend, I will never forget the kindness he showed me as a brother in our Lord Christ Jesus. I am looking forward to seeing him again in our new home. I just found out about Glenn's homegoing. Reading what others have said about Glenn makes me sad that I never met him...but we were family - 2nd cousins. Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted. May our Lord give you His peace that passes all understanding.

It has been both an honor and a privilage to have known Glenn Roberts. We had many time of laughter, these memories I will cherish. 1st Thessalonians 4:16-18 reminds us of the hope, Glenn is hid in Christ and we will see him again.

Although it's been many years since high school Glenn reached out to me when he had learned of my dad's death, and he had played football under his coaching. We stayed in contact after that and I was deeply inspired by the faith he had found in Christ and how he wrote about how beautiful he knew Heaven would be and how he hoped he could be an example of his faith to others while he struggled with his illness. I even learned we were born two days apart and our mom's in the same hospital! Although I am deeply saddened by the loss for his family, I am thrilled to know he is enjoying Eternity. I haven't seen Glenn since high school, but I remember what a kind and fun guy he was. It sounds like he has lived a full and deeply rewarding life despite his short time with us. I remember Glenn when he was a young kid and played football with my brother. He was always very nice and polite. It sounds like he spent his whole life being that way. My prayers are with his wife and his family. Just know he is in a better place and isn't suffering anymore.
