FITCHBURG -- Helen Marie (Desmarais) Ward, passed away on June 24, 2015, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, at the age of 63.

Helen is survived by her two sons, Andrew Ward and his fiancée, Tania De Los Santos of Fitchburg, and Alexander Ward of Fitchburg; a sister, Isabelle Boudreau and her husband, Edwin of Fitchburg; brothers, Rodney Desmarais of Temple, New Hampshire, William Miller of Clinton; grandchildren, Madison and Audriana Ward, Haleigh Craigen; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest Bernier, Lucien Desmarais; sisters, Helen Desmarais and Phyllis Dancause.

Helen was born on March 20, 1952 in Peterborough, New Hampshire to Isabelle Desmarais. She graduated from Mascenic Regional High School in New Ipswich NH. She also attended Henri School of Hair Design and Fisher College. Helen worked as a hairdresser during her early adulthood years and then went on to work at Fidelity Bank, as a teller for 30 years.

Her children remember her as a very kind and patient mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Helen was a generous and caring individual who loved spending time with her family, always arranging get-togethers on holidays and special occasions. She was a wonderful grandmother, who would go above and beyond for her grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours. Burial services are private. Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
