Philip St. John Obituary

LUNENBURG -- Philip R. St. John, 61, of Flat Hill Road, died Monday, July 3, in HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster, after a long illness.

Hee was born in Fitchburg on July 7, 1944, the son of the late Martin J. and Doris (Gagne) St. John and had lived in Lunenburg since 1969. He graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend in 1962. He then went on to serve four years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Mr. St. John was an auto body repairman for several years. He specialized in antique car restoration.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time on Lake Shirley. He also enjoyed ATV riding and when he was younger, motocross riding.

Mr. St. John leaves two sisters, Betty A. Charron of Fitchburg and Elaine M. St. John of Townsend; two nephews, John Crain of Manchester, N.H., and Jason Crain of Florida; a niece, Stephanie Long of Townsend; a grand-nephew, Tyler Crain, and a grand-niece, Sarah Riley Crain, both of Manchester, N.H.; his companion, Nancy Curran of Lunenburg; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Linda (Crain) St. John, who died in 2001; and a brother, John St. John.

ST. JOHN -- On July 3, Philip R. St. John, 61, of Lunenburg. The funeral will be held Saturday, July 8, from the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Massachusetts Ave., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Boniface Church, 817 Massachusetts Ave. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, July 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
