WESTMINSTER -- Ralph P. LeBlanc, 61, of 26 Barrel Road, died Thursday, Aug. 28, in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston, after a sudden illness.
Mr. LeBlanc was born in Framingham on April 6, 1942, the son of Ralph Hardman and Ruel and Doris (LeBlanc) Wilson. He grew up in Fitchburg and attended local schools. He had lived in Westminster for the past 18 years.
Mr. LeBlanc was the former owner of Ralph’s Getty in Leominster for over 17 years, before his retirement.
He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, woodworking, kayaking, riding his moped, and raising miniature horses.
Mr. LeBlanc is survived by his wife of 21 years, Michelle A. (Rivard) LeBlanc; two sons, Ralph W. LeBlanc of Westminster and Aaron Somma of Leominster; three daughters, Cathy Leger of Sutton, Nancy Bowne and Ann Valcourt, both of Fitchburg; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, David Wilson of Leominster, Robert Wilson of Fitchburg, Philip Hardman and Howard Hardman, both of Georgia; four sisters, Mary Morrison of Fitchburg, Barbara Watkins of Phillipston, Diane Somers of Leominster and Gail Johnson of Fitchburg; his father-in-law, Romeo Rivard of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Helene (Benoit) LeBlanc who died in 1980, a daughter, Madeline LeBlanc who died several years ago, and a brother, Lester Wilson.
LEBLANC -- On Aug. 28, Ralph P. LeBlanc, 61, of Westminster. Calling hours are Thursday, Sept. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. in the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes (www.masciarellifamilyfuneralhomes.net), 123 Main St., Westminster. In lieu of flowers, Mr. LeBlanc’s family requests memorial contributions be made in his name to the Westminster DARE program, c/o the Westminster Police Association, P.O. Box 447, Westminster, Mass. 01473.
