I have had the privileged of knowing Rob for the past 20 years. He was a fabulous nurse and a valued friend. he never forgot about his friends and their families. He was our official White 8 Alumni social director, our "go to' parson for arranging good times that are now wonderful memories. Rest in Peace my friend.

My condolences to Rob's family. We have all lost a wonderful friend. He made us smile and laugh. He lived life to the fullest. He was a wonderful person and will never be forgotten. He was the best nurse and I enjoyed those years working with him on the old White 8. I will miss his calls on the way home from work in the morning and the many dinners in the North End and the cookouts at Harriet's. I will miss him so much and when I think of him I will smile. I have all those wonderful memories of him. Rest in peace my friend. Love Mary Ellen.

I met Rob in 1990 when he first started at MGH, I was a year ahead of him but somehow he took me under his wing. He was such a smart guy and found humor in every situation. When white 8 closed in 1996, he was the glue that not only kept us together but kept us laughing. MGH will never be the same without Rob, I will miss you every day.

I have not worked with Rob for more than 10 years but he never forgot to invite me to the MANY White 8 (the old White 8 team) gatherings. At the gatherings, he made everyone, including my non-medical husband feel at home and included. He was a joy, love, inspirational and caring man. He never spoke ill of people and LOVED being a nurse. He was taken from everyone much too soon. Hope his spirit will live on and inspire the ones he has touched. No more dieting needed!

Through all the sadness I feel from Rob's passing, whenever I think of him, his smile, and his laugh, I smile. He was always so gracious to ask me how my kids were doing, which always led to fun conversations about all sorts of things. He was "one in a million", and for all of us that knew him, we will forever be bettered, and he will be forever missed. My heart and thoughts go out to his family, as I can only imagine your sense of loss. We who worked with Rob at MGH feel devastated by his loss. May he rest in peace.

Dear Bergman Family
Words cannot express how sad Don and I are at Robs passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I was such a lucky girl to grow up with Rob as a Best Bud. Everything we did was always so much fun - that was mostly due to Rob of course. Even just taking our daily trek to Mini Market could be hilarious depending on who or what we saw along the way. We'd laugh the whole way and thats how I will always remember Rob - laughing and smiling. Our deepest condolences to all of you.
Love,
Nan (Miller) and Don Cosentino

I was extremely fortunate to call Rob my friend starting in Gallagher and in LHS. Through the years, it made my day to inadvertently bump into him at Home Depot or some other unsuspecting location. He would share stories of his travels and his familiar, welcoming smile; the same one that I remembered when we were kids. Then, we'd be off in different directions again with warmth in our hearts. The yearbook caption describes Rob as “caring, ambitious, outgoing and a hard worker”. True…then and always. Now, it is with sadness in my heart as I send condolences to Rob's family and friends. Our world has lost a truly wonderful and caring human being. – Tina (Blanchette) Wilson

My family & I were priviledged to know Rob for more than 20 years. I worked with Rob at MGH and knew first hand what a kind, capable and caring Nurse he was. He was also such a great friend! He helped to plan a party at my home every summer to gather our MGH friends and enjoy the ocean. He had a great sense of humor and a warmth and energy that endeared him to all he met. We will miss him so much! Our hearts go out to his family. Please accept our deep condolences. Love & prayers, Harriet & Peter Nugent
