Helen India Thomas died November 23, 2014 in Winston Salem, NC.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Helen is survived by her husband, Dr. James M. Thomas; her two sons, Thomas A. Hunt of Melbourne, FL, and Gregory M. Thomas (Tricia) of Knoxville, TN; and her sister, Julienne Kiessig (Ralph) of Tallahassee, FL.  She also leaves four grandchildren, Sarah, Tyler, Alyssa and Austin.

Helen was born in Atlanta, GA, but spent her childhood in Miami, FL.  During her school years, Helen Hancock won many awards and held offices in Student Government.  She was the editor of her high school yearbook, "The 1963 Aquila" and won the Miami Herald "Silver Knight Award" for excellence in journalism.

Helen and Jim moved to Titusville in 1969 where she was a top producing Realtor in Titusville for over 30 years joining the Million Dollar Club on many occasions. 

She was an avid golfer, a gourmet chef, and an accomplished gardener. She also enjoyed Bridge and traveling with her husband, Jim. Helen was the life of any party and delighted in making her friends laugh. "She never met a stranger".  Many friends in Titusville and at Olde Beau Golf Course in Roaring Gap, NC will miss her wit, humor and lengthy phone conversations.

A Memorial Service celebrating Helen's life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Brevard Charities. Online condolences may be shared at northbrevardfuneralhome.com.
