Phillip Mann Obituary

Phillip Scott Mann, 28, of Scottsmoor, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012, while living in Hawaii chasing his dream. He finally found paradise. His passions were surfing and sky diving.

He was born July 4, 1983, in York, Pennsylvania. Phillip was a 2001 graduate of Astronaut High School and also graduated from Brevard Community College. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Phillip served during the Gulf War.

He is survived by his father, William C. Mann; mother, Victoria Kahler-Wine; brother, Clinton W. Mann; and nephew, Damien W. Mann.

A Memorial Party will be held to celebrate Phillip's life on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the Gold Lion Inn in Titusville, from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm.

When I look at your picture, I just have trouble believing you are gone, not forgotten though. I remember when you were little and visiting grandma and pappy's, you always wanted an apple peeled. You would stand there and watch me peel it and grin when I was done. I remember your last phone call to me when you thanked uncle Ed and me for making you and Clint all those Easter baskets. Feel the strength as you close your eyes and take a deep breath in and slowly exhale. That is the feeling of you here within this world and upon us all.

My everyday decisions, I have come to realize, have always had a piece of you involved. Because of you, I shall always win and never fall.

The way we analyze and the way we evolve are just a way of great minds working together. Few minds think as we do and you sir were always truer than true.

Believe in your mind and surround yourself with greatness. Positivity is the key and no lock can withstand it. Better yourself and greatness will be you!

You were ready to teach so many and spread your impulse to the world but maybe the world was not ready for the simplicity and logic that you held!! :)

Our family met Phillip when we were vacationing in Maui in Feb this year and I don't know if I ever met someone with such a zest for life. I have read in the condolences about Phillip wanting to change the world, and I truly believe that he did. His enthusiasm was contagious and we had a great time with him.

Our daughter Heather got to know him quite well and kept in touch with him after we left the island. We were all shocked to hear of Phillip's accident.

Alright here is my second attempt at writing this, I guess I had too many curse words or the last one was too long so it got rejected. Phillip, my best friend in this entire world, thank you so much for being the closest thing to a brother I could ever have. I have so many memories i could fill entire volumes of books with. You picked me up when I was down and I did the same for you. I remember nights, long talks on the dock about philosophys of life and what each of us were going through. I will forever cherrish the time we had our place and any other time we spent together, which was basically every day. You have been and always will be and inspiration in my life and i know that you can still guide me through this crazy, insane world. It is hard now I have good and bad days but when it's bad all I have to do is talk to you and I know you will listen and steer me in the direction I need to go. Thank you again for covering my section that night I quit Applebee's hahaha. I miss you more and more every single day. Thank you again for being the absolute best friend i could ever ask for. Watching Phillip was like watching my brother (his dad). If it is even possible Phillip was more Bill Mann than Bill was. Our old home movies showed Bill never sitting still and always on to new adventures. This played out in Phillip too. The stories that Bill has been sharing of his adventures with Phillip remind me of his younger days. My brother has grown into a good father and a very strong individual. He has shared all he learned along the way with his sons and will definitely touch his grandson too. I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
