Robert Sorensen Obituary
There will be no prior calling hours. Friends are invited to attend a military graveside service in Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Thursday (October 27) at 10 a.m.
It is requested that memorial donations in memory on Mr. Sorensen be made to Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 E. River Road Waterloo, NY 13165
Mr. Sorensen was born on January 17, 1931 in Waterloo, N.Y. the son of the late Howard and Verna Kidd Sorensen. He was a graduate of Romulus High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Sorensen worked on the farm at the Willard Psychiatric Center before going to work at the Seneca County Highway Department from where he retired. After retirement he went to work for Geneva Walmart where he worked in the farm and garden center.
Mr. Sorensen enjoyed restoring International Tractors and was a member of the International Harvester Club. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife, Joan.
He is survived by his children, Susan (Tony Luciano) Carroll of Clifton Springs, Robert (Leslie Berry) Sorensen Jr. of MacDougall, N.Y. and Chris (Laura) Sorensen of Dickson, Tenn.; granddaughter, Emily Grace Sorensen; brother, Phil (Claudia) Sorensen of Wash.; and several nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by his wife, Joan; son-in-law, Joe Carroll; and brother, Ralph Sorensen.
Funeral arrangements have been made with the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main Street, Phelps.

Sue, Rob, Chris, Phil, and families,

As the brother of Robert or Bobby as I called him, he was a super hard working person who had numerous mechanical skills and expertise. He was proud of his achievements in the restoration of Farmall tractors often entering parades with his friends who were part of a club for this purpose. He was a Korean Conflict veteran but seldom if ever shared much about those days. I have missed and shall miss our lengthy phone conversations. Rest in Peace Bobby, you will always be with me and my Washington State family!
