Gunter Hollers Obituary

75, of Roseville, Michigan. was called Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Warren. He was born in Heidergde, Germany, March 4, 1946, the son of the late Klaus and Margarita (Paasch) Hollers. His marriage to Nancy Lynn Griffith was June 27, 1967, at Community of Christ Church, Richmond, MI. Nancy died in 1988. Gunter met Elizabeth Parrish and they married in 1983, at Community of Christ, Richmond, MI. Elizabeth died in February 6, 2009. Gunter, once again, found love and married Wanda Grant on June 26, 2011, at Community of Christ Church, Richmond, MI. Gunter served his country with the United States Army in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969 during the Vietnam War. He then continued his service in the Army Reserves where he drove trucks with the Military Occupational Services. Gunter volunteered his time on Angel Flights, helping to bring the remains of fallen service men back home from Vietnam. He was a member of the National Guard and VFW Post 6802 in Richmond. Gunter grew up in Germany and moved to the United States in 1965. He became a member of Community of Christ Church and was active as a Deacon and Priest over the many years spent with the church. Gunter had lived in Nebraska for three years then Colorado for six years where he worked the oil fields in the plains near Fort Morgan, and as a truck driver. Over the years, Gunter enjoyed growing and caring for roses and flowers and stamp collecting, and loved collecting Matchbox, Hot Wheels, and Franklin Mint cars, especially his Ford pick-up trucks. He was proud of his collections and filled his home with displays to show his friends and family. Surviving are Wanda, his wife of 10 years, two children, Richard (Courtney) Hollers of Richmond, MI, and Crystal (Shawn) Nygard of Marysville, MI; two step-daughters, Heather Grant and Hannah Grant; three grandsons, Zachary, Griffin, Weston, and Landon, and two granddaughters, Haley and Elizabella; a brother, Horst Hollers of Germany, as well as one niece and one nephew and many friends. He is preceded in death by three sons, Stephen Hollers (1994) and Erik Hollers (2019), and Gunter Hollers, Jr. (2021). The family honors the memory of Gunter and invites you to visit and share memories Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond, MI. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday with 10:00 a.m. visiting at Community of Christ, Richmond. Elder Joann Dalton will officiate. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery, Richmond, MI.
