BOBBY LEE "BOB" WURSTER

BOBBY "BOB" LEE WURSTER, 81, of Berne, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 in Fort Wayne. He was born Oct. 6, 1932 in Mercer County, Ohio, the son of Russel M. Wurster and Aretha L.M. (Rhoades) Wurster. He married Madelyn S. Clauser May 12, 1957, and she survives. He was a member of the First Missionary Church, Berne. He was active in the church and served on the board and in other areas. Bob was a charter member of Swiss Heritage Society and spent many hours volunteering there. He enjoyed watching sports, especially his families events. He was a member of the Berne American Legion Post #468. He graduated from Neptune High School, Neptune, Ohio. He had several jobs and served his country in Germany during the Korean War. He worked for the Citizens Commercial Bank in Celina, Ohio. He then was office manager at Zurcher Tire in Monroe, Ind. until he retired in 1993. He was a founder/owner of Bernhaus Furniture of Berne. Surviving are his wife, Madelyn; sons, Curtis (Jeannine) Wurster of Berne, and Bradley (Toni) Wurster of Berne; daughter, Pamela (Brad) Hart of Orient, Ohio; sister, Dorthy Rutter of Lady Lake, Fla.; and nine grandchildren, Jeremiah (Erica) of Columbus, Ohio, David (Nikki) Hart of Kewsick, Va., Aaron (Jessica) Hart of Orient, Ohio, Danielle Hart of Orient, Ohio, Kirsten Wurster, Caleb Wurster, Zachary (Rachel) Wurster, Nicholas Wurster, Madelyn B. Wurster all of Berne; seven great-grandchildren, Ella, Asher, and Elijah Hart of Columbus, Ohio, Brady and Jordan Hart of Keswick, Va., T.J. and Sophia Hart of Orient, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 at First Missionary Church, with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Pastor Don Williams, Pastor Max Haines, and Pastor Nathan Foust officiating. Burial in the MRE Cemetery with military rites by the Berne American Legion Post #468. Memorials to Swiss Heritage Society and/or First Missionary Church.
