I was just thinking of Mr Pinner this morning and was sad to see he had passed. I am blessed to have known him for a short period of time. His determination, courage, knowledge, and strength was evident and he educated me on various topics. He is unforgettable. My condolences to the family.

Doug was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was married to my sister Francy for many years and always treated our parents with the greatest respect and kindness. We enjoyed many holidays together with family and I could never thank him enough for buying my MGTD kit car! We will miss you and pray that you will Rest In Peace.

We shared laughter and tears for more than fifty years. Thankfully, more laughing. Hoffman in '63. Chicago in '68. The times we shared.

I met Doug in the mid-1980s. He was first a customer at Water Meister Sports where I worked, and from there became a great friend and adventure travel companion. We shared some good times in some wild and beautiful mountains over a decade or so.
He was a true Renaissance man, and I enjoyed our many discussions about so many things, places, history, and more than I will ever recall. He was one of the most well-read and knowledgeable persons I've met. And he also had a dedicated work ethic. Doug would not let the grass grow under him when something needed to be done.
I am glad to have been his friend for a time, and will always remember him fondly.

Please accept my condolences to the family on the passing of Douglas. I worked with him for over 10 years at Slater Steel, and he was instrumental in hiring me. After we both were no longer there I would occasionally run into him in town. It was always an interesting conversation. I'll always remember a meal we shared while on business in Sorel, Quebec.

Met & served with Doug @ Unity. He was intelligent, active, & quick to laugh. Always reading, studying, & seeking a greater understanding. Even though he enjoyed golf!!! He loved his family...I always was ready to hear the latest story about his beloved grandson...Or the dog...Peace to you & GodSpeed
