LUCILLE CAPOBIANCO CLARKE

1920 - 2022

LUCILLE CAPOBIANCO CLARKE, 101, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022. Born Dec. 25, 1920, in St. Louis, Mo., she was the oldest sibling of three brothers. After graduating from University City High School in St. Louis in 1939, she attended Murray State College and Miss Hickey's Secretarial School. Lucille proudly served her country in World War II, by joining the U.S. Navy as a WAVE and working in the legal department. She married Dr. Calvin B. Clarke, a fellow Navy man from Auburn, Ind. She was active in her community serving the Isaac Knapp Dental Auxiliary as President, from 1965 to 1966, and was also active in a group for developmentally disabled children. Surviving is her daughter, Kathleen Cacouris; and three cherished grandchildren, Zakary C. Clarke, Dimitri A. Cacouris, and Christina M. Cacouris. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Dr. Calvin B. Clarke; son, Charles A. Clarke; and daughters, Susan L. Clarke and Judith "JC" A. Clarke. Lucille Clarke was buried on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, with family attending, and rests peacefully at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Fort Wayne, Ind.
