Mario Eade

DOVER - Mario Eade, who had a Civil Engineering career spanning five decades, passed away Thursday 29 August 2013, at the Wentworth-Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH. He was 80 years old and lived with his wife in Dover.

After briefly living in Brooklyn, the family moved to Nyack, New York. He was a Civil engineer working in New York City for thirty years.

A native of Santiago, Chile, Mr. Eade earned his degree from the University of Chile. He emigrated to the U.S. as an Engineer in 1961. He was hired as a Civil Engineer with the T.A.M.S. Consulting Engineers firm in Manhattan. His expertise involved consulting on many complex infrastructure projects around the world. In 1982 he lived outside Guayaquil, Ecuador for 2 years, playing a key leadership role overseeing the construction of the Daule-Peripa Hydroelectric Project in conjunction with the Comision de Estudios para el Desarrollo de la Cuenca del Rios Guayas (CEDEGE). This critical, multipurpose project provides power (35Mw), irrigation water and water supply to the region; and was one of the highlights of his career. After T.A.M.S., he took several Consultant positions with Bechtel, Parsons Brinkerhoff and others, contributing on many international projects.

Mario Eade is survived by his loving wife of over fifty years, Adriana; his daughter, Daphne, son-in-law David, two grandchildren - Kyle and Abigail; and son, Mario and daughter-in-law, Karen.

Mr. Eade left this earth after a brief illness, while in the presence of his close loved ones.

A memorial service will be held on October 20, 2013 at Spring Hill Lodge at 117 Pond Road South Berwick, Maine 03908 from 1:30- 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to End 68 Hours of Hunger PO Box 676, Somersworth, NH 03878 email address-end68hoursofhunger.org. Care for the Eade family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
