Robert Roy Blair

WELLS, Maine - Robert Roy "Bob" Blair, 84, of Wells, died on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at York Hospital.

He was born in Sarasota Springs, N.Y. on July 25, 1928, the son of Robert E. and Yvonne Mary (Roy) Blair.

Bob was a fireman for the Boston and Maine Railroad from 1947 to 1949. He then enlisted in the Army, serving in Korea. He lived in Virginia for a time, before returning to Maine in 1967, building the Sun and Sea Mobile Home Park. He married the love of his life, Marlene Beaudoin, in 1970. Together they began the Bo-Mar Hall in 1973, running auctions and expanding it to its present Victorian group shop. He and Marlene met while dancing; they loved to go dancing at many locations in York County.

He was President of the Maine Auctioneers Association. Bob was a strong believer in, and a supporter of the Make a Wish Foundation for many years.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marlene B. Blair of Wells, Maine; four sons, Timothy R. Blair and wife Cathy of Wells, Scott Cressey and wife Beth of Kennebunk, Tom Cressey and wife Greer of Kennebunk, James Cressey and wife Terri of Arundel; daughter Dawn Marxx and husband Jamie of Washington, D.C.; his sister, Carmen Jennison of Shirley, Maine; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk. Should friends choose, memorial donations may be made in his memory to: The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine, 87 Elm Street, Suite 203, Camden, Maine 04843.

dear marlene and family..i am really sorry to hear of bobs passing. I will
never forget the fun we had at auctions
and the conversations about new York.
I am glad he is not suffering and that he is in a better place but I will miss
him as I am sure many others will also.
he was a good and generous person and
