Alice Bovey Obituary
She was the wife of the late Richard Bovey.
Born April 26, 1921, in Potomac, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia Shaw Ricketts.
Mrs. Bovey was employed as a cook at Potomac Horse Center for over 10 years.
Surviving are four children, William Hahn and wife Lilly of Martinsburg, W.Va., Danny Bovey and wife Charlene of Cumberland, Ralph Bovey and wife Anna of Frederick, and Tina Harbaugh and husband Elvis of Libertytown; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Judy Alvord of Clarksburg, Betty Harrison of Winchester, Va., and Mildred May of Frederick; two brothers, Hazel Ricketts of Wheaton, and David Ricketts of Frederick; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bovey was preceded in death by one daughter, Mildred Bovey; and eight brothers and sisters, Charles Ricketts, Dorothy Smith, Leonard Ricketts, Francis Ricketts, Catherine Fife, Harry Ricketts, George Ricketts and Mary Lou Ricketts.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday with Pastor C.D. Coley officiating.
Interment will be at a later date.
