Jody Spears Obituary

Mr. Jody Dale Spears, 19, of 18219 Woodside Drive, Hagerstown, died Sunday, July 30, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born Oct. 18, 1980, in Beckley, W.Va., he was the son of Tom R. Spears Jr. of Beckley, and Dawn Jones Morrison of Hagerstown.

He was a 1999 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.

He was employed by Cumberland Valley Heating and Air Conditioning as a technician.

He attended Rehoboth United Methodist Church, Williamsport.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Eric Spears of Libertytown; maternal grandmother, Ruth Jones of Jefferson, Ohio; paternal grandparents, Tom Sr. and Mary Frances Spears of Mount Hope, W.Va.; stepfather, Bill Morrison of Hagerstown; stepmother, Lanoma Spears of Beckley; two stepsisters, Stephanie Adkins of Charlotte, N.C., and Tanya Pelfrey of Beckley; and a stepbrother, Micah Morrison of Gastonia, N.C.

He will also be remembered by his girlfriend, Karey Lucas of Hagerstown.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 30 E. Salisbury St., Williamsport. The Rev. James E. Swecker will officiate.

Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown, was in charge of arrangements.
