Shannan Alger Obituary
Born August 23, 1981 in Olney, MD, she was the daughter of John Alger and Susan J. Pocock.
Shannan was a graduate of T.J. High School, Class of 2000. She attended the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetics, pursuing her career becoming the owner and operator of Shear Envy in Frederick, MD. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, best friend, and aunt.
She is survived by one son, Myles Johnson, at home; father, John Alger and wife, Susan M. Alger, Myersville, MD; mother, Susan J. Pocook, Martinsburg, WV; three sisters, Marilyn Crampton and husband, Al, Lee Ann New and husband, Jason, Mary Watkins and companion, Dave; companion, best friend and Myles's father, James Johnson; four nephews, Ethan, Collin, John, Jr., Collan; three step-children, Jada, Tyrique, Nemo; James's mother, Betty Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Sullivan and Evelyn Alger; maternal grandparents, Jim and Ann Wellhouse; one nephew, Aiden New.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Father Steve Stahley officitating. Interment will follow in Fairview Lutheran Cemetery in Bolivar, WV.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Shannan Alger

Shannan was my hair stylist for 5 years until I moved. I loved her friendly personality, her sense of humor and her caring ways. She always talked about her Dad and of course, her Myles. I even got to know Myles a little when he would occasionally come in with Shannan. I considered Shannan a good friend. She will be missed not only by me, but my many others who knew her.

Shannan started out being my hairdresser over 15 years ago. She quickly became my friend, my therapist, and my shopping buddy. I feel like I know her family even though we´ve never met. My heart breaks for Myles. I pray God gives her family strength during this difficult time. And to her Dad, please know you were her number one hero. She always spoke so highly of you. Sending her family hugs and love.

Oh my I remember when she was born, we were working with her father John. I am very sorry to hear this very sad news. I'm sending my deepest sympathies to John and her whole family! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I haven't seen Shannan, other than FB, since I left Lowes almost 10 years ago. In all that time I've not forgotten her sense if humor. She always had a smile and an infectious laugh. My heart goes out to her family. Especially her "little man", Myles.
