Armand R. Fredette
Armand R. Fredette, 88, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of Citrus County, Fla.
Armand was born on May 17, 1926, in New Bedford, Mass., to the late Edward and Eva Pimpare Fredette. He served our country in the U.S. Navy and then the Army during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, retiring with a rank of master sergeant.
He was an avid golfer and loved to travel and root for the Boston Red Sox and Celtics. In earlier years, he wrote sports stories for his local newspaper and was the radio announcer for local high school sports. He was especially a fan of baseball and the Patriots.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 years, Helen Fredette; sons Edward Armand Fredette of Ocala Fla., and Armand "Buddy" Fredette and his wife, Patricia, of Fredericksburg; his daughter, Jeanine Barbara Fredette of Lorton; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanne Marie Fredette.
