James R. LeBlond
James R. LeBlond, 58, of Fredericksburg, formerly of Richland, Mich., died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital, after a long illness. He was employed by Bowman & Barnes Inc., in Cleveland, Ohio, as a salesman. As a young man, Mr. LeBlond was an excellent swimmer and lifeguard and belonged to the Western Michigan SCUBA Diving Club. He was also an avid flyer with his small plane pilot's license. Mr. LeBlond was a skilled classical guitar player and teacher, who, when a teenager, auditioned for Andreas Segovia of Spain. He attended services at St. Mary and St. Matthew Catholic churches.
He is survived by his son, James R. LeBlond II of Fredericksburg; his daughter, Andrea L. LeBlond of Oakland, Calif.; his sister, Lynn Quigley of Fredericksburg; three grandchildren, James R. LeBlond III, Gabrielle LeBlond and Francesca LeBlond; and two nieces.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
