Cathy Gorzen Obituary

Cathy Gorzen

Canton - Cathy Gorzen (nee Gilbertson), age 67, passed away on December 28, 2017 from a stroke after battling cancer twice. She was a loving wife, mother of two children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law and grandma to five grandchildren. She also had three brothers and two sisters. Cathy was part of the last graduating class at St. John's in Jackson, MI in 1968. She worked in Danny's Foods front office for many years where she developed an enjoyment for computers and technology. Cathy was an excellent cook and enjoyed making gourmet meals for friends and family. She loved crafting and playing board and card games with her four granddaughters and grandson. Animals were an important part of the family and she made sure there were at least three cats and a dog around the house. Cathy was a member of St. Thomas A'Becket Church in Canton, MI. Cremation has already taken place and a memorial will be held at a later date. Contributions in memorium may be made to your local Humane Society. Local care and services were entrusted to the L. J. Griffin Funeral Home (734) 981-1700. Share a "Memorial Tribute" with the family at griffinfuneralhome.com.
