Janet Marquardt Obituary
JANET Longtime Higgins Lake summer resident, Janet Greene Marquardt, 95, died March 11, 2016, at her home in Royal Oak, MI. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on March 31 at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery in Markey Township. Janet was born on April 24, 1920 in Schenectady, New York. As a lifelong conservationist she loved the outdoors and was happiest in the woods especially during wild blueberry season and when taking care of our land. Preceding her in death were her parents, R. Earl and Mary (Spline) Greene; and her husband of 52 years, David G. Marquardt. Surviving are her children, David (Kathleen) Marquardt of Troy, Jim (Tamara) Marquardt of Troy, and Jeanne Marquardt Meier of East Lansing; grandchildren, Andy and Lissa Meier, Paul (Jen) Chambers, Chris (Courtney) Chambers, and Taylor Marquardt; and great-grandchildren, Ali, Morgan, and Parker Chambers.
