IDA JOSEPHINE STOCKLI PRETZER

Ida Josephine Stockli Pretzer of Fresno was born on June 10, 1915, to Leo and Ida Stockli. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 28, 2012, at the age of 96. Ida attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Edison High School. She was a bus driver for Central Unified School District in the 1940s and 50s. Ida was a member of the La Cavista horse club, they rode in many parades throughout the valley in the 1950s. She was a member of the Fresno Trail Riders. She also was a member of the Swiss Club in Ripon, Ca and of the African Violet Club. Ida enjoyed animals and riding horses. The family would like to sincerely thank Sunrise Assisted Living, Acera Care Hospice and to Dr. Steven Miller for their loving and thoughtful care of Ida. Ida is preceded in death by the love of her life, Ted Pretzer, her husband of 60 years. They traveled extensively together. Ida is survived by her two sons, Norman Pretzer and his wife Mary Ann Pretzer and William Pretzer, both of Fresno; her brother, Leo Stockli Jr, of Bakersfield, Ca; granddaughter, Heidi Hodges and her husband Sean; and two great-grandchildren, Heather and Sean Hodges. Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Sunday, March 4, 2012, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Monday, March 5, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to the Ted and Ida Pretzer FFA Scholarship, c/o Heidi Hodges, P.O.Box 393, Kerman, Ca. 93630.
