Jane De Groot

JANE De GROOT Jane went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 20, 2003. She was 72 years old. Jane was born on November 20, 1931, in Artesia, CA. Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John De Groot in April of this year. She is survived by her son, Pete and his wife Carolyn of Fresno; his son, Dave and his wife Sylvia of Hood River, OR; his daughter, Teresa Visser and her husband Dan of Selma; 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandsons. Jane Griepsma was born into a dairy farming family. As a teenager she would milk cows by hand daily. At the young age of 17, she met and married the charming Dutch immigrant, John De Groot. Later, they purchased their own dairy farm and after several moves they settled the family farm near Fresno in 1973, where the family still continues the dairy family tradition. Jane was always active in her family church. She will be remembered for the many years of service as a Calvinette leader, a Sunday School Teacher, a Bible Study Leader, the tape ministry, and the Church Librarian. Recently, Jane spent some of her time serving on the board and committees of the Sierra Village Inc. retirement community. Jane will be remembered for her generous spirit to those in need. She will truly be missed by many. Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 23, 2003, from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the Fresno Christian Reformed Church on Wednesday, December 24, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. A fellowship time will be held after the service at the church. A Commital Service will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, December 24, 2003, at 9:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to the Fresno Christian Reformed Church, 1639 W.
