Mireille Johnson Obituary

MIREILLE JOHNSON

Mireille, a resident of Fresno, was born on January 8, 1917, in Lyon, France and joined the Lord on Monday, February 13, 2006, at the age of 89. As a young woman, Mireille fled to the south to escape German occupation and performed with a professional dance troupe on the French Riviera. She then worked as a secretary for the Allied Forces where she met and married Clarence Johnson. They settled in Fresno, CA, in 1951, where their three children, Dennis "Frenchy" Johnson, Stan- ley Johnson, and Linda Wright were raised. Mireille retired from Sears and Roebuck following 30 years of service. She also enjoyed donating her time and worked at the People's Church Boutique for many years. She is preceded in death by Clarence Johnson, her loving husband; and her granddaughter, Beverly Peterson. Mireille is survived by her three children, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as one great great-granddaughter. Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Thursday, February 16, 2006, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens (Cornelia & Whitebridge) in Fresno, CA, on Friday, February 17, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. LISLE FUNERAL HOME1605 'L' Street, Fresno 266-0666
