Carolyn C. Baker, age 93, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016, in Raymond, CA. Carolyn was the daughter of Albert and Lillian E. Christiana, of Madera, CA, and often reminisced about her youth and childhood friends in Madera with great fondness. In 1951, she married Ernest Skaggs and moved to Dos Palos, CA, where they farmed the Santa Rita Ranch in partnership with her parents. Together they proudly raised their family in Dos Palos, enjoying the small town traditions of the local farming community. Carolyn and Ernie shared their trademark spirit and teamwork with Dos Palos families through their support of academic, athletic, and ag programs. Ernest Skaggs died in 1973, and in 1983, Carolyn married Clarence E. "Bake" Baker, who was her devoted and loving husband for 27 years. They embraced retirement to the fullest, traveling, entertaining and enjoying time with their families and many friends. She will be remembered for her outgoing nature, and for being both friendly and active in the communities where she lived. She was generous with her time and talents, supporting local organizations with enthusiasm. There is no question, however, that the most gratifying part of her life was her involvement with the family farming operation. Her zest for life will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Bake passed away in 2010. Carolyn was also preceded in death by second husband, Floyd Fike. Carolyn is survived by her son, Gary Skaggs and wife Patty; daughter, Randee Haumea; daughter, Cindy Nicoletti and husband John; and daughter, Carol Ruble and husband Brad. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brendon Haumea, Erin Pimentel, Kristen Nicoletti Hardy, Heather Ruiz, Mark Nicoletti, Dustin Fike, Sara Nowell, Brittany Haumea, Michael Nicoletti, Juliet Skaggs, and Blake Ruble; and 23 great-grandchildren!
