Gaffney, SC - James Grady Randolph, 85, of 714 S. Limestone Street, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Gaffney, he was the loving husband for 62 years of the late Mary Barnhill Randolph and the son of the late Joe Grady Randolph and Martha Patterson Randolph. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, served in the South Carolina National Guard and was co-owner of J. Grady Randolph Trucking Inc, where he was employed since the age of 12. He served his community with diligence and pride by serving on several boards, which include, The Board of Public Works, First Piedmont Federal Savings and Loan and Limestone University. He was the Director Emeritus of The South Carolina Trucking Association and an avid Clemson Tiger fan. Mr. Randolph was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a lifelong deacon and a member of The Tony Hopper Senior Men Sunday School Class.
Surviving are two sons, Jimmy Randolph (Dee) of Gaffney and Mark Randolph of Simpsonville; three brothers, Joe Randolph (Shirley), Charles Randolph (Andrea) and Arthur Randolph (Phyllis), all of Gaffney; a sister, Marty Marett of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Jessie Randolph, Jamie Randolph, Rebekah Randolph Robinson (Lucas), Steven Randolph and Abbi Lee Toney (Matthew); four great-grandchildren, Evie Kate Randolph, Georgia "Peaches" Brown, Matthew Stanford and Reese Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Randolph was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Alison Randolph.
The family will receive friends from 11:30AM until 12:45PM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at First Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 1:00PM at the church with Dr. Tommy Huddleston and Reverend Kevin Hampton officiating. Entombment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
