GEWNDOLYN ELLIS Obituary
Ms. Gwendolyn Ellis, age 60, passed away April 4, 2016 at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. Ms. Ellis was a graduate of Gainesville High School, class of 1974. She was preceded in death by her mother, Reatha M. Ellis, brother, Wayne Ellis and sister, Sharon Roundtree.
Ms. Ellis is survived by her father, Orian Ellis, Sr., Gainesville, FL; siblings, Orian Ellis, Jr. (Glenda), Gainesville, FL, Pamela Copeland (Michael Angelo), Janice Morris, Carmen Parks, all of Orlando, FL.
Funeral Services for Ms. Ellis will be held, 11:00am, Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, Rev. William R. George, Sr., Pastor, Pastor Winter Brown, Officiating; burial will follow in Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Arrangements Entrusted to Chestnut Funeral Home, Inc., 18 N.W. 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL, 32601.
Ms. Ellis will repose in the Chestnut Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm, and on Saturday at the Church from 10:00am until the hour of Service. Family and friends are asked to meet on Saturday at the home of Ms. Ellis, 906 N.W. 5th Avenue, at 10:15am to form the Cortege.

With Deepest Sympathy to you all. I was driving down 5th ave. last friday, April 1st, I blowed the horn and wave, hollering; Hey Y'all.( Gwen and a younger Sister was sitting on the porch). Gwen and I were co-workers,but more than that she was a very good friend. Gwen had a way of making you smile, even when you were a little down in the dumps! My heart goes out to the all family members in this most difficult of times! I will dearly miss Gwen,however I rejoice in the knowledge that Gwen is going home to be cradled in the hands of our Lord and savior!
