JOSEPHINE LOVETT Obituary
Josephine Lovett of Gainesville passed away peacefully on November 23, 2011 at age 96. Born October 3, 1915 in Fitzgerald, Georgia, Josie and her husband Paul raised three daughters in Miami, FL, Mary Jane, Paula, and Patricia. Josie and Paul relocated to Gainesville, FL in 1989. They were active in numerous social and civic organizations and members of North Central Baptist Church. Josie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Paul and her daughter Mary Jane Pike. She is survived by her daughters Paula Lovett (Robert Hosford) and Patricia Lovett-Durham (Don Durham), grandchildren Stephen Pike and Mandy Hosford as well as many loving family and friends.
Graveside Funeral services will be held at the Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central, 4100 NW 39th Avenue, Gainesville on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11am with a reception to follow for family and friends at The Courtyards Community Center. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to North Central Baptist Church or Haven Hospice. Arrangements by Forest Meadows Funeral Home (352) 378-2528. Dear Paula and Tricia,
Cheryl emailed the news of your mother's passing. I'm so sorry for your loss, but understand the relief that the end of Josie's suffering brings, too. I hope memories of the good times will sustain you in the days ahead. I have lots of wonderful memories of your mom. Two of my favorites are watching her fry chicken, and serving up ice cold watermelon to us kids on hot summer days. Thinking of you.
