SARAH MARGARET, 95

After a long illness, gracefully endured, Sarah died peacefully on July 20 at 95 years of age. Her daughter Mary was at her side.

Sarah was born in Ocilla, Georgia. When she was a young child her family moved to West Palm Beach, and she had vivid memories of the devastating hurricane of 1928. Sarah was an alumni of West Palm Beach High School, Palm Beach Junior College and Florida State College, which was an all women's school at the time. She was a life-long member of Delta Zeta.

During World War ll Sarah was teaching second grade in Boca Raton when she met the love of her life, Robert Miller, an Army Air Force sergeant from Ohio. They were married in 1944, a union which lasted until his death in 2002.

Bob's work in the aerospace industry resulted in several moves for their family, including to the Cape Canaveral Area, Rapid City, S.D., Southern California and Houston, Texas. Finally, with retirement, they were able to settle in Gainesville, back in Sarah's beloved Florida.

The youngest of four children, Sarah was predeceased by her brothers John and Samuel and her sister Anne. She is survived by her daughters Mary McAllister and Margaret Eaugallie and six grandchildren: Laurel, Miles, Tyrrell, Molly, Caitlin and Rebecca. She is also survived by her five great-grandchildren: Georgia, Alice, Tristan, Owen, and Elijah. Sarah was an adoring mother, grandmother and great grandmother to them all and she will be greatly missed.

Sarah's family would like to thank all those from Sterling House in Gainesville, Hospice of the Nature Coast, and Comfort Keepers who provided such compassionate care.

A private memorial service was held on July 26.
