J. Donald Puckett

1932 - 2016

J. Donald Puckett, age 84, of Sugar Hill, Ga., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Pearl Puckett; brothers, Gene Puckett and Douglas Puckett; special cousin, Wiley Puckett; brother-in-law, Ralph Adams. He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Carolyn Adams Puckett, Sugar Hill, Ga.; sons, Ronnie L. and Barbara Puckett, Jefferson, Ga.; Wayne S. and Shirley Puckett, Conyers, Ga.; grandchildren, Bradley Puckett, Vanessa Ingle, Hayley Puckett, Charles Bryant, Robby Buse, Andrew McCammon, Travis McCammon and Melanie Wood; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Virginia Puckett Lowe, Honduras; several nieces and nephews; and special cousin, Betty Puckett, Lilburn, Ga. Mr. Puckett was born Jan. 11, 1932, in Buford. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He received his education from Buford High School. He worked for Puckett Paving Company for over twenty years and was a retired gas superintendant from the city of Buford. He was a member of Gold Wing Motorcycle Association in Gainesville, Ga., and he loved his motorcycle. He also was a member of the Hardees breakfast club. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Satterfield and the Rev. Farrell Presley officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Buford. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. until funeral hour. Flowers accepted, or memorials may be to American Heart Association in memory of J. Donald Puckett.
