John Warren Obituary

WESTHAMPTON – John A. Warren, 82, of Easthampton Road passed away Monday Oct. 23, 2017, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Northampton, Jan. 22, 1935, and is the son of the late Lloyd and Helina (Engell) Warren.

John was a graduate of Smith Vocational High School and was employed at Hamilton Standard in Connecticut, Hampton Specialties in Easthampton, and retired as a custodian after 23 years in 1993 from Hampshire Regional High School. He also worked part-time as a caretaker for the Westhampton Cemetery for several years. After retiring, he enjoyed working as a grounds keeper at Look Park in Florence.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Patricia (Atkinson) Warren; his sons Thomas Warren and his wife Diane of Westhampton, David Warren and his wife Susan of Northampton and Gary Warren and his wife Laurie of Hatfield. He also leaves his grandchildren Joshua, Ashley and her fiancé Mike Demarey, Timothy and his fiancée Chelsea David, Allison, Shawn, Jachob, Kyle, and his great-granddaughter Gianna.

Besides his parents he is predeceased by his brothers William and Robert Warren and his sisters; Barbara Rhodin and Betty Weaver.

John was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed hunting rabbits with his beagles. He was a member of the Easthampton Beagle Club and the Hilltown Chapter 94 Camping club. He enjoyed camping with family and friends and traveling with his family to Moosehead Lake in Maine for their summer vacations.

There will be no services and the burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The Boucher-O'Brien Funeral Home is entrusted with his care.

The family would like to thank the entire ICU staff at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital who took excellent care of our loved one and the family while he was in their care.
