Richard Fortier Obituary
He was born in Chicopee to the late Arthur and Fedaline (St. Pierre) Fortier and attended local schools until he joined the Air Force.
Rick studied photography at the New York Institute of Photography, became a local professional portrait photographer, and owned Rick Fortier Studio in Easthampton, Massachusetts, until his retirement in 1985-when he became a snow bird calling Florida and Massachusetts his home.
His true passion was wood and he loved nothing more than spending hours in his woodshop and then giving his works of art to his family and friends. Rick was a carpenter, master woodworker, woodcarver, and a true artisan, earning numerous awards for his work.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Patricia Roguz of Granby, Massachusetts,and New Port Richey; his daughters Donna Mae Campbell and her husband Bruce and Karen James and her husband Shawn both of Easthampton, Massachusetts; his step-children Chester Roguz of South Hadley, Massachusetts, Patti Britt and her husband Paul of Goshen, Massachusetts, and Bridget Roguz and her partner Mary-Ann Fitzpatrick of Granby, Massachusetts; his grandchildren Nicholas Campbell and his wife Heather, Samantha Read, and Westley Roguz; several great-grandchildren; his brother Roland Fortier and his wife Anita of Holyoke, Massachusetts; his sister Marie Bianculli of Cromwell, Connecticut; his former wife Joan Fortier of Easthampton, Massachusetts; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephew, and friends.
He is predeceased by his brother Gerard Fortier, nephew Michael Fortier, and three grandsons, Christopher Campbell, Bryan Read, and Joseph Read.
Services for Richard will be held Saturday, June 10, at 10:30 a.m. with a graveside Christian Burial followed by military honors at the Saint Brigid's Cemetery, Everett Street, Easthampton, Massachusetts. The Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Adams St., Easthampton, Massachusetts, has honorably been entrusted by the family with local arrangements.
