Rita Remmel

March 28, 1947 - January 22, 2025

Rita Mae Remmel was born to Melvin Anderson and Eleanor Anderson (Tande) Suggitt in Alma Center, Wisc. on March 28, 1947. She died at her home in Eau Claire, Wisc. on January 22, 2025. Rita was a graduate of Eau Claire's Memorial High School and the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. She married William Oatman and had one child, James Oatman. She later remarried William Remmel in 1979 and became a stepmother to seven more children, Diana Norman (Remmel), Carla Remmel, Michael Remmel, Jonathan Allen, William Remmel, Charles Remmel and David Remmel.

Rita is survived by her husband of 46 years; her brother, Thomas Anderson; her sister, Konja Humphries (Anderson); children; grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and friends that are too numerous to list.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, James Suggitt; her brother, Kenneth Anderson; her sister, Amy Malvin (Anderson); and her sister-in-law, Cheryl Anderson.

Rita lived and worked in several cities, including: St. George, Utah, Auburn, New York, Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Inver Grove Heights, Minn. and Oakland, Calif.

Rita loved playing bridge where she met many friends, and rooting for the Green Bay Packers.

At Rita's request there will be no services.

The family would like to thank Melissa Lipka and the Mayo Clinic Hospice staff for their compassionate care during her illness.
