Brian van Lawick Obituary

Brian Andrew van Lawick April 18, 1965 – January 24, 2012 With the arms of Jesus open wide to receive him, Brian Andrew van Lawick entered Heaven on January 24, 2012. Brian was born in Redwood City, CA on April 18, 1965. He spent his youth around the Bay area where he was known as a rebel. However, the pride of Brian's life was trading rebellion for Jesus and embracing family life. When Brian married his love, Molly, they blended together their beautiful boys. Brian enjoyed family outings, especially when it involved fishing and anything outdoors, rooting for the 49er's, and good food. Brian also liked to cook for family and friends. But most of all his pride was his family and working hard to support them. He was a dedicated worker that believed in teaching the necessity of hard work and Jesus. His legacy will go on through his investment in his children. Brian made sure his family knew they were loved and told them often. He counted many as his friends and was known as forgiving and accepting of all, just like the bible teaches. He leaves behind to continue his legacy, his sweetheart, wife, Molly van Lawick; his sons, that he loved beyond measure, Beau Andrew van Lawick, Joshua Justice van Lawick, and Trevor, Travis, and Billy Fritzel; his father, Julius (Patricia) van Lawick; his mother, Elizabeth Goodell; brothers, Doug (Terry) van Lawick; Bruce (Jessica) van Lawick; sister, Karen (John) van Lawick- Stenicka; nieces, nephews, and his in-laws, along with numerous friends and church family. We love you, we learned from you, and we are better because of you. Our Love Always!! Celebration of Life Service will take place Monday, January 30, 2012 at Jubilee Family Church, 483 30 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81504. Viewing 10:00 a.m., Service 11:00 a.m., reception to immediately follow. Arrangements entrusted to Mesa Funeral Service.

Miss you man
You were a good dude
I remember that summer where you were a little skinny dude and you went to Hawaii on vacation and when you came back you were 6 ft
It´s been 13 years and I´m just writing this now because I was looking up Bruce, I think he may have passed as well
You and me were stupid teenage rebels but we grew out of it
I´m so proud of you accepting the lord as your savior and building a loving family life
I hope you´re at peace brotherman

Brian, I will miss our daily chats after your work day and the excitement of watching you with your family and Joshua. I am honored to call you my best buddy and son-in-law. I thank you for bringing happiness to my daughter and her sons. They love you very much and you were very good to them. I apprecate how hard you worked for the benefit of your family. My life is better cause you were in it and I have a hole with you gone. Given my age it may be sooner than later that we get to meet again and my friend it will be with pleasure when we do. Until then I will teach Joshua all I can about his hardworking dad. I love you Brian.

To my dear brother Brian...how I love you so. You are and have been my teddy bear brother. I will miss your calls - we van Lawick's are not good at communication, but you my brother always took the time to call and check in...say 'I love you'... just thinking about you... every week, you took the time out of your busy day to call and say hi. I respect you..your love for life, your sons, and most importantly, your beautiful wife Molly. I love you my brother, and you will be missed by so many...XXXXXXXOOOOOOO!!

En al hebben we elkaar nooit gezien en gekend, toch zul je altijd in onze gedachten zijn zoals het altijd geweest is. Sorry dat dit in het nederlands is. It was an honor to have Brian in our lives. Such a sad and very tragic thing.

the passage into death is not one to be feared, but one that signals the completion of one phase of life so that another can begin.
For in truth, there is no such thing as death, only ongoing life for souls in an ever-expanding process of exploration and learning.
The journey is infinite, as are the capacities of each and every soul.
Nevertheless, the emotions created by the loss of a beloved one are painful to the ones who remain behind,Even then, the ties of connection can remain strong and the difficulty in letting go can remain equally strong.

Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with you.
