Ernest McKeever Obituary

Ernest L. McKeever April 6, 1924 - February 2, 2008 Ernest Leslie McKeever went peacefully to be with the Lord on February 2, 2008 at 83 years old. He is now reunited with his wife, Donna who he has missed dearly since she passed away on July 15, 2002. Ernie was born on April 6, 1924 in Los Angeles, California. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS California. He worked in construction, including at the San Onofre nuclear power plant in California. He was a superintendent there, and was in the Heat & Frost & Asbestos Workers union. Ernie lived in California until he retired to Grand Junction, Colorado, in 1986. He enjoyed his "morning coffee" and golfing with friends. He was always willing to help friends with a construction remodel. Ernie is survived by his sister-in-law, Joyce Maugle, his twin brother Earl McKeever, and his nephew Daniel McKeever whom he raised as his son. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. The family wishes to thank all of Ernie's devoted friends who visited and took care of him during his last days at the VA Hospital. Ernie's memorial service will be Monday, February 11 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Church, 1350 N. 7th St., Grand Junction.

"Ernesto", such a great guy! Many happy times at the house with Ernie, Donna & Joyce! He was always "there" when you needed him and SO nice to talk to. Like to think of Ernie & Donna ice skating together again! Love to you both! Love, Carol & Dottie Ross

There has never been a person with such a giving and caring heart. Despite our age difference, Dave and I always enjoyed golfing and sharing stories or jokes with him and Joyce. Farewell my friend. Heaven is lucky to have you. Enjoy your precious Donna.
