Paul Banks Obituary

Paul W. Banks October 31, 1932 - November 7, 2006 Funeral services for Paul W. Banks, age 74, of Clearwater, Nebraska were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Sharee Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery. Mr. Banks passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska. Paul William Banks was born October 31, 1932 in Hugo, Colorado, the son of Frank and Mary (Lyons) Banks. He grew up and graduated from Basalt High School (Colorado) in 1951. Paul then engaged in farming and agriculture sales. In 1970 he owned a Massey-Fergusson dealership in Grand Junction, CO. On April 18, 1998 he was united in marriage to Patty Cunningham at the Inman United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Clearwater. Paul loved farming, John Deere tractors, camping and fishing and making crafts. Paul was a member of the O'Neill Eagles Club. Paul enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Patty of Clearwater, five children; Gary Banks of Albuquerque, NM., Kristy Taylor of Denver, CO., Pamela and husband Dave Shipley of Grand Junction, CO., Bill Banks of Clearwater, NE., and Laura Koski of Grand Junction, CO., stepchildren; Arlie and wife Diane Sholes of Omaha, NE., Glen and wife Jane Sholes of O'Neill, NE., Kathy and Bill Grutsch of Hartington, NE., Mark Head of Boulder, CO., Kenny Smith of Grand Junction, CO., and Dennis Smith of Grand Junction, CO., 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, two sisters; Betty and husband Larry Hicks of Idaho Springs, CO., Laurine and husband Rusty Ford of Glenwood, CO., one brother, Lawrence and wife Bonnie Banks of Littleton, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Kenneth, Robert and Larry and his wife, Norma Abby Banks.
