Scott Walker Obituary

Scott A. Walker
October 6, 1961 - July 9, 2018
Scott Arthur Walker passed away in his sleep at HopeWest in Grand Junction on July 9, 2018, surrounded by his family and friends.
Scott was born in Sterling, Colorado to Rusty and Rena Walker and graduated from Sterling High School. He graduated with a degree in Business Management from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado in 1986.
Scott lived a life full of family, friends, athletics, and great hunting and fishing trips. He was a football and track star at Sterling High School. He went on to Chadron State College on a football scholarship, where his career was cut short by a knee injury.
He married his high school sweetheart, Lori Bianca Crippen, in 1987. They had three beautiful children, Cody John, Casey Don, and Katie Lynn.
Scott enjoyed eight years as a Systems Analyst for Boeing Aircraft Manufacturing in Seattle, Washington. He and Lori returned to their Colorado roots to raise their children close to family and friends. He worked as a Finance Manager with Ed Bozarth Chevrolet from 1998 through January, 2018.
Scott was so proud of his sons' distinguished service in the military. He dearly loved his daughter, Katie; they shared a special relationship. And, he was so delighted with the birth of his grandson, Waylon Scott, in December of 2016. Scott and his Bunky had a special bond and they loved each other dearly.
Scott is survived by his devoted wife, Lori; son, Cody, Cody's wife, Jenny and grandson, Waylon Scott; son, Casey, and Casey's wife, Becca; daughter, Katie; sister, Peggy Davis of Morrison, Colorado; brother, John Walker, and mother, Rena Walker both of Sterling, Colorado.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rusty Walker.
He will long be remembered by his many devoted friends, and his loving family.
There will be a service held at the Stillwater Cowboy Church, 1956 U.S. 6, Fruita, CO with reception to follow Friday, July 13th at 3:00 p.m.

Thank you Scott for taking me under your wing and making me feel part of the football team at Western State College back in the 80's. Still today, I remember playing Trivial Pursuit with you in Escalante Terrace and you laughing at me because I said Obi-Wan Kenobi was Luke Skywalker's father. You were a giant to me back then with your big biceps and big smile. However it was your big heart that I shall remember the most. We shall see each other again some day and rejoice in Heaven praising the glory of our King and Savior. Maybe we can even get a workout in at God's Gym.

Saddened to hear of Scott's passing. So much to be proud of-your family is a blessing. Embracing life & loving every bit out of it. Scott's support of our own boys was always appreciated. Love to you all.

Marcia and I remember many times with the Walkers. We were both teachers of Scott's at different times during his Sterling school days. He was a genuinely fine musician and played and sang in school groups. Rusty and Rena were friends we could admire as they raised their family. We extend our deepest sympathy to the family. Be assured that Scott is a student we shall never forget.
He was a classmate of our son Roger. He would wish to extend his condolences as well.
