Elma Ostrowsky
Elma J. Ostrowsky, 95, of Edwardsville, died at 1:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Eden Retirement Center in Glen Carbon. She was born September 2, 1916 in Livingston, the daughter of the late Max and Josephine (Malench) Larcher.
Elma married Paul Ostrowsky in June, 1933 in Livingston. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Boniface. She loved to read and do cross word puzzles, and she mowed her own lawn til the age of 92.
Besides her husband, Elma was preceded in death by her mother and father, one daughter, Alice Cobetto, and one brother, Max Larcher.
She is survived by a son-in-law, Robert Cobetto of Edwardsville; a granddaughter, Jill (Jonathan) Kin of Houston, TX; a grandson, Jerrold (Cindy) Cobetto of Glen Carbon; great grandchildren Jesi Cobetto of Collinsville and Jami Cobetto of Glen Carbon.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville. Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. with Deacon Daniel officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society and Metro East Humane Society. Saksa Mateer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
