It is with great sadness and heartbreak to announce that Kyle Jacob Cook, age 38 of Grand Haven, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at home.
He was born on April 25, 1985 in Grand Haven, Michigan to Kenneth and Jean (Strickler) Cook. Kyle graduated from Grand Haven High School, Class of 2003 and Lincoln College of Technology in 2005. He worked with his cousin, Jason Warden at Lakeshore Auto for many years, and was a member of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP).
Kyle was a part of Red Chunk Productions with his friend, Hank Hawkins. He loved NASCAR, the Detroit Lions, and Star Wars. He also enjoyed going camping with friends, hunting, fishing, and he especially loved gaming.
Kyle was a very loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He would do anything for anybody, and often put the needs of others before his own. Kyle loved his family more than anything, and his friends were also like family to him, and central in his life.
Kyle will be forever remembered and missed by his parents, Ken and Jean Cook of Grand Haven; his siblings: Josh, Jenessa, Cody, Kaylie, and Jadynn; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; numerous friends; and the family dog, Teddy. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Cook; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Elizabeth Cook; maternal grandparents, Orville and Ruth Strickler; his aunt, Sherry Strickler; uncles, Bruce and Brian Strickler, and Craig Cook; his cousin, Shannon Gradisher; and good friends, Larry Baumgart, and Jerry and Diane Delp.
A Celebration of Life Open House for Kyle will take place on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 1-3 p.m., in the Mackinaw Ballroom at Central Park Place (formerly the G.H. Community Center) 421 Columbus Ave., Grand Haven, MI, 49417. Friends and family are welcome to share stories and memories beginning at 2:30. The family requests you show a random act of kindness to someone, which is what Kyle would want.
