SCOTT, MR. JACK LEE Mr. Jack Lee Scott of Rockford, age 76, went home to his Lord and Savior Monday, August 18, 2014. Jack was born September 21, 1937 in Lansing, MI to Earl and Minnie (Sanders) Scott. He was raised on the north end of Lansing attending school in Dewitt and Lansing Eastern (Class of 1955). Jack was an accomplished athlete as a young man and along with his team mates (1955 Lansing Eastern Wrestling) was inducted into the greater Lansing Sports Hall of Fame. He was a network operation manager at Michigan Bell for 45 years. Of all his accomplishments in his life the greatest began on March 19, 1955 when he married his life long partner Sandra Oathout. This began a journey together that has lasted 59 years. Through the many miles, smiles and tears they shared, they created a beautiful family of 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Jack took great joy in watching the accomplishments of all "His Babies" in whatever they were doing. He was a fan of MSU Spartans and whatever team "His Babies" were playing for. Jack played guitar for most of his adult life and the entire family has many fond memories of him playing. Jack's life long journey with Sandra landed them in many locations such as Lansing, Rockford and Mecosta Michigan, Milwaukee, WI and Davenport, FL. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; children, Tammy (Kent) Graves, Kyle (Ann) Scott, Kent (Holly) Scott; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Beverly (Gene) Ovenhouse, Peggy Kosloski; and brother-in-law, Larry (Glenda) Oathout. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Ray Kosloski. The visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Pederson Funeral Home, Rockford, MI 49341. There will be a Prayer Vigil at 8 p.m. following the visitation. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, 4865 11 Mile Rd.
